Is Anyone Ready to Attract Attention?

OK, so what kind of graphic design bloggers would we be if we didn’t discuss graphic design on our inaugural post? Our posts won’t always relate to our industry, but let’s give it a go for the first one.

If you’re like us, you’re sick of hearing and talking about the tanking, er, tanked, economy. But we will say it has had at least one positive effect on the advertising industry – it’s (hopefully) made companies realize that a down economy is one that NECESSITATES the need for advertising. Remember when the economy was strong and salespeople just took orders? Gone. Now salespeople have to sell…yes, sell – themselves and their companies’ services.

A down economy is a tough time to convince your accountant that you need to spend money on advertising and brand reinforcement…but when the economy rebounds, who’s brand will consumers remember when they’re ready to spend their money? You guessed it – those who stayed the course and continued to keep their names in front of consumers’ faces and in their ears, minds and hearts.
